Friday 6th May 2005 - HEDGEHOGS AND THE A G M

Lorraine Jackson to talk to us about Hedgehogs together with the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of the Society.  Any comments or questions by members welcome.


 Sunday 12th June 2005 - PUFFIN BOAT TRIP

Book through us to go on the Yorkshire Belle on this RSPB Boat Trip round and about Flamborough Head. The trip will last for about 3 hours. There are Refreshments available and Toilets also. A Birding expert will be on hand to help with identification. 9.50 for adults, 4.50 children. Boat leaves Bridlington Harbour at 9.30am. We hope to check on parking by visiting shortly before the date so telephone me for details. Last date for booking / paying is the AGM.


Sunday 3rd July 2005 - FREETIME FAIR

Any support you can give us on this open day at the Brough Village Hall on Elloughton Road for local Societies will be welcomed. 11am to 4pm.


Friday 15th July 2005 - MOTHING NIGHT

Frank Botterill, one of the regions most outstanding experts on Lepidoptera assisted by some of our own local Lepidopterists will be on hand to help with identification.

It is hoped to enlarge our Moth Database for recorded species in our Reserve on Brantingham Road, Elloughton. For start times (dusk) and further information ring me on 668064.



A Special Afternoon for our Societies young enthusiasts. Roma Oxford of Mobile Minibeasts will help us with all of the beetles and other small beasties we can find in the Reserve on Sunday 14th August from 2:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m.

Families with youngsters ring me please ! (Tony on 668064) It would be unfortunate if Roma came and our younger members were away !!


Sunday 25th September 2005 - COACH TRIP

Sunday 2nd October 2005 - WOOD WORKING PARTY

Please come and join other friends working for two hours in the Reserve, cutting back brambles, path clearing, pruning and planting. Starting at 2pm and finishing at four.


Sunday 23 October 2005 - APPLE DAY

We shall be having a stall and exhibits at this event which is taking place at Manor Farm off Long Lane at Beverley. The event will be well signposted. Come along between 11am and 4pm  and meet friends on what we are assured will be an enjoyable day out. For further details contact Doreen on 666651.


Sunday 6th November 2005 - WOOD WORKING PARTY

The last Working Party of the year. The wood is yours and does need your care and attention, starting at 2pm and finishing at 4 p.m.              


Friday 18th November  2005 - VALLEY OF THE FIRST IRON MASTERS.

A talk on our local Ancient History with slides by Peter Halkon.

Also ...  The Societies Nature photographic competition will  take place on this evening and is open to all pictures taken by members that have not previously been entered in a competition. Members are entitled to submit a maximum of  three entries each and they can be titled or not. The size is 5" by 7" or larger.

 The Prizes will be 20, 10 and 5 for the three places. Every member in attendance will be given the chance to vote for the best photographs.

The Kingfisher Trophy will be awarded to  the winner of the Competition to hold for one year and which will be inscribed appropriately. Bring your prints on the night.


Friday 2nd December 2005 - SOCIETY QUIZ NIGHT

Members who have attended our Annual Quiz have usually come back for more, we play as teams so don't be afraid of the dreaded mental block. Come and extend your circle of friends, and please bring food for the "spread".


Friday 20th January 2006  - CAPTURING THE MAGIC OF DOLPHINS 

A talk with slides by the Organiser of Dolphin Watch Dr Horace Dobbs.

This promises to be an excellent and interesting meeting.
